A new collection of poems by Hull author Mike Watts will be launched at Pave Bar on Princes Avenue, Hull on Monday 29 June 2015.
His third book in five years, Jawbreaker is the brand new collection from the forthright Hull writer Mike Watts, who has entertained the crowds on stages large and small, up and down the country.
Intrigued after seeing a poem left in an old typewriter, the young Mike was inspired to write. By dedicating his third title, Jawbreaker to Michael Ponsonby, a Hull trawlerman and the owner of that typewriter, the Hull author is paying homage to where it all began.
‘Expect tales of madness joy, beauty and belligerence all delivered with Mike’s trademark grit and passion. These poems are as real as the street outside and twice as exhilarating‘: Russ Litten
Musical support comes from internationally renowned singer/songwriter Astrid Williamson whose sublime sixth album We Go To Dream is out on 31st July.
The book launch takes place from 8pm at Pave Bar on Princes Avenue in Hull, where Mike will be reading new work from Jawbreaker, published by Paul Gibson plus old favourites from his earlier collections.
Copies of Jawbreaker by Mike Watts will be on sale at the launch and in the local authors section in Waterstones, Hull. Previous Titles Reviewed Coming to a Street Near You and Day and night in the Damaged Goods Factory
